How To
Get Involved

About US

This video was produced by Young People in Rotherham. The process of applying for the EHPC plan should be similar to that of all other local authorities across the UK, although there may be slight differences.

  • An Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) is a legal document for children and young people aged 0-25 with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)

    • It describes their educational, health, and social care needs and the support they require

    • It involves input from various agencies and practitioners

    • The Special Educational Needs Statutory Assessment and Provision (SENSAP) team in Leeds oversees all EHCPs and assessments

  • Anyone

  • The first step is to talk with the SENCO teacher at your school, college, or sixth form. You can still apply to the local authority if the school does not support you.
